A while ago I came across some information on Apartment Therapy about plants filtering the air in your home. BUT I have two small dogs and a cat! So which plants are safe around them? I did some world wide web research and I came up with a list of plants (because I didn't find one out there). See the list after the jump!
Washing fruit should be a simple task, right? I've come across a few fruit/veggie wash recipes but they often warn (or don't warn at all) that they shouldn't be used on soft-fleshed fruit. So how does you go about a thorough cleansing if you want to go beyond rubbing under running water? Find out what I did after the jump!
My crazy spending has been dragged down the boot aisle. The cyber boot aisle of the Internet. Oh boy is it wonderful to come home to boxes at your doorstep. It's like getting surprise gifts from Santa throughout the year. Well, it's a surprise if you don't track your package. Here are some visuals of my recent boot additions to my family. And by family I mean the couple Mr. Lefty Feet & Mrs. Righty Feet who always convince to keep buying. Just kidding.
Top-left I bought from Modcloth.com
Top-Right I bought from Piperlime.com (they can also be found on Zappos.com or Ninewest.com)
Bottom-Left & -Right I bought from Forever21.com
The top ones were under 100$ but over 50$. And the bottom ones were cheap! They were both about 35$ each. Yes, they do lack in quality but they're cute. The cheaper they are, the more I can have! Yessss!
Whilst looking at icanhascheezburger.com, (a daily ritual of mine), I came across an ad on the site and clicked away. The site is fredflare.com which is based off a store in New York. Man do they have some cute stuff! They sell womens and mens clothing (mostly women) and accessories and stuff (similar to urban outfitters). There are many things I want from fredflare but when I saw Disney Couture jewelry I bought it almost right away (the price made me hesitate, but it was still a better deal than getting the same jewelry else where - this being based off a quick google search). Here is what I bought:
I love them.
Top-left is a Dumbo carousel necklace. It features pink Swarovski crystals, two light blue glass beads half way up the chain, and a little Dumbo charm dangles at the end of the chain near the clasp.
Top-right is a shark bracelet (Little Mermaid themed). It has a light blue Swarovski crsytal at each of the hinges, a little Flounder charm attached to the chain, and a small starfish charm as well which says Disney Couture on the back. The bracelet bends slightly at the hinges but not all the way, if you're wondering.
Bottom-left is a Tinnkerbell egg ring. The egg sits atop a nest which holds two baroque pearls (slightly varying in color from one another) anda blue enamel half-cracked egg with a gold metal numb sticking out of it (I don't know what's up with that). The twiggy nest detail is carried on on the band.
Bottom-right is a ring that I haven't bought, but plan to. Its a stump, obviously, with two Swarovski crystals as shown and on the other side of the stump is an engraving of a heart with words in it stating "Wish upon a star".
I have had my Etsy account for a little over a year now and I FINALLY bought something on it. It's not that I haven't wanted many items, (I have many saved as my favorites), I was just apprehensive about it. I'm not sure why. I'm usually an impulsive shopper, maybe the internet's accessibility has made me a smarter shopper. Although when items for sale on the internet have a deadline, then my impulses take over ...most of the time, depending on the price. Anyways, for this past year ish or so, I've been under the impression that "Feedback" on my Etsy shop site was only derived from my Etsy sales. WROOONG! Now that I've purchased something from another shop, and have received good feedback, it says "Feedback 2, 100%". All this time I've been looking at other people's feedback as a reflection of their sales. Gee whiskers!
